Declasse Vamos

The Vamos is one of the more interesting confirmations because of where it comes from: it was a Grand Theft Auto Online exclusive, and its appearance in Grand Theft Auto 6 is a piece of that catalogue carrying forward into the new game.

Why an Online exclusive matters

Grand Theft Auto Online ran for more than a decade and accumulated an enormous vehicle catalogue, most of which never existed in the single-player game as shipped. Those cars were designed, modelled and balanced for an audience that was still playing years after release, and a lot of them are better than the launch catalogue they sit alongside.

Seeing one appear in Grand Theft Auto 6 says something about continuity of the catalogue rather than about this car specifically. It suggests Rockstar is treating the vehicle roster as an ongoing body of work rather than starting over, which has implications for how much of the Online catalogue eventually turns up.

The car itself

It is an older American two-door in the classic mould, of a kind that in the real world would now be somewhere between a project car and a restored show piece. Declasse is Rockstar's Chevrolet and General Motors analogue, covering pick-ups, plain sedans, police cruisers and older muscle, and the Vamos sits at the muscle end of that range.

Where it fits in Leonida

Florida has a very large classic car culture, helped by a climate that does not salt its roads and does not rust cars out from underneath their owners. Older American metal survives there in a way it does not in the north, and it is genuinely common on the street rather than confined to shows.

A restored sixties coupe on Ocean Drive is not an unusual sight in Miami. It is closer to set dressing.

What is not known

Whether it appears as a common street spawn or a rare find has not been shown, and no specifications have been published. Rockstar has not indicated how much of the Grand Theft Auto Online catalogue returns.
