Will GTA 6 come to PC, and when

No PC version has been announced. Rockstar's own history is the only guide, and it points somewhere between early 2027 and mid 2028.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Rockstar has announced no PC version, given no window, and said nothing on the record about one existing.

That is the whole of the confirmed information. Everything below is pattern-reading, and anybody giving you a date is doing the same thing with more confidence than the evidence supports.

The pattern

Rockstar has made PC players wait on every recent release, and the gap has varied a lot:

  • Grand Theft Auto IV: about 7 months
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: about 12 months
  • Grand Theft Auto V: about 19 months

Applied to a 19 November 2026 console launch, that range gives you anywhere from roughly June 2027 at the fast end to mid 2028 at the slow end. The most commonly quoted expectation sits at 12 to 19 months, so late 2027 into 2028.

Why it might be shorter this time

Reporting in early September has suggested the wait may be shorter than the Grand Theft Auto V precedent. There are reasonable arguments for it.

The 19-month gap on Grand Theft Auto V was a product of its era. That game launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, and the PC version was effectively a remaster built alongside the next-generation console ports. Grand Theft Auto 6 is being built for current hardware from the start, which removes most of that work.

Take-Two's fiscal calendar is the other argument. The company's year ends in March, and a PC release makes an obvious anchor for a quarter that would otherwise be quiet. February 2027 gets mentioned for that reason rather than because anybody has heard anything.

Why it might not be

The delay has never been purely technical. A staggered release sells the game twice to a meaningful number of people, and it protects console launch sales in the window that matters most.

There is also the matter of a PC build being the easiest thing in the world to pull apart. Rockstar has spent four years being extremely careful about what leaves the building.

What to do about it

If you only play on PC, plan for 2028 and treat anything earlier as a bonus. That is the least disappointing way to hold it.

What is not known

Whether a PC version is in development, when it would arrive, whether it would include anything the console release does not, and what it would require to run. Rockstar has not commented on any of it.
