GTA 6 on PC by March 2027? Here's where that report comes from
GamesBeat says four industry sources put the PC version in the first three months of 2027. Nobody's named, Rockstar hasn't answered, and it'd be the fastest port Rockstar's done in years.

GTA 6 could be on PC within the first three months of 2027, according to a GamesBeat report from 13 October. That'd be somewhere between about six weeks and four and a half months after the console launch on 19 November.
GameSpot, Dexerto and a pile of other sites picked the story up, so you've probably seen the headline. It's worth knowing where it actually comes from, because there's only one report here and everyone else is repeating it.
Who's saying it
GamesBeat's Alexander Lee wrote that Rockstar "plans to release the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI within the first three months of 2027." He credits four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans. None of them are named, and the piece says they asked not to be so they wouldn't damage business relationships.
Rockstar didn't reply when GamesBeat asked for comment. The game's still listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and Take-Two hasn't put a PC version in any of its earnings releases. That's why we've got this down as a rumour. Four sources is more than most PC whispers get, but they're anonymous and the publisher's said nothing.
The report has its own caveat built in, too. Lee writes that the PC version "will have to pass the same quality bar as the console version" before Rockstar puts it out. Given this game's already slipped from 2025 to May 2026 to November, that's not a small if.
Why it'd be such a short wait
We went through Rockstar's history in our PC release guide, and none of it looks like this. GTA IV took about seven months to reach PC. Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year. GTA V took around 19 months, landing in April 2015 after a September 2013 console launch.
A first-quarter 2027 date would beat all three, and by a lot. Back in September, the most common guess you'd see was late 2027 or 2028, which is roughly where we landed too.
There are reasons it could be quicker this time. GTA V's PC version was tied up with a jump across console generations, and GTA 6 is built for current hardware from the start. Take-Two's financial year also ends in March, so a PC launch before then would put that money in the same year as the console sales. Nobody in the report says that's the reason, but the timing lines up neatly.
GamesBeat also brings up FiveM. Rockstar bought Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM roleplay framework, in August 2023, and that whole scene runs on PC. If Rockstar wants roleplay servers going for GTA 6, it needs a PC version to host them.
What else has been said since
Analyst Michael Pachter gave his own guess on BBC News a couple of weeks later. Insider Gaming quotes him saying that "in about 6 or 7 months it will come out on PC." Count that from 19 November and you get May or June 2027, a bit later than GamesBeat's window. Pachter's an analyst making an estimate, though, and he hasn't said he's heard anything from Rockstar.
And if you were hoping to dodge the wait by streaming it, Xbox already shut that down. Chief strategy officer Matthew Ball said in early October that the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC". We covered that in our Xbox Cloud Gaming piece.
If you're PC only
Nothing changes on 19 November. Rockstar hasn't put up a PC store page or system requirements, so any "official PC specs" you see floating around didn't come from Rockstar. If GamesBeat's sources are right, the first real sign will be Rockstar putting up a store page or a trailer, and with a March target that'd have to happen fairly early in the new year.
