Mechanics

Systems Rockstar has confirmed or teased.

This is the section that has changed most between Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto 6. The police no longer hand you a star rating and wait for it to time out. They build a case from your face, your clothes, your car, your weapon, your partner and any camera that saw you, and each piece has to be dealt with separately.

Almost everything else connects to that. Masks matter because a face is tracked. Weapon condition matters because a distinctive gun is easier to match. Storing rifles in your car means your vehicle carries evidence for you. Even stealing a car is now a choice between quiet and fast.

Alongside it sits the Criminal Profile, a per-character record of how you operate that Rockstar has been careful to say is not a morality meter, and Focus, which slows time and marks limbs separately from lethal zones so that ending a confrontation without killing anyone becomes a real option.

Where a system has been shown, these pages say what was shown. Where it comes from reporting on the Extended Look rather than from Rockstar, they say that instead.
