GTA 6 ships single-player only. There is no GTA Online on day one
Rockstar has confirmed the launch is story mode alone, and has said nothing at all about when multiplayer follows.

When Grand Theft Auto 6 opens on 19 November it will be a single-player game and nothing else. Rockstar has confirmed there is no online mode at launch, and has not given a window for one.
What has actually been said
The confirmed part is narrow: no multiplayer on day one. Everything past that is unanswered. There is no announced name, no release window, and no statement on whether it arrives as a free update or as something you buy separately.
Take-Two has also said it will keep supporting GTA 5 with content after GTA 6 is out, which reads as a company that expects a gap to fill.

The speculation, labelled as such
Forbes has floated that an online mode may be one to two years out. A leaker with a track record on Call of Duty has pointed at December 2026, roughly a month after launch. Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied any of it, and these two claims are more than a year apart, which tells you how little is actually known.
For a series where the online component funded thirteen years of post-launch development, the silence is the story.
