Trailer 2

The second trailer arrived in May 2025, seventeen months after the first, and did something the first deliberately avoided: it introduced people.

The shift

Where Trailer 1 was a mood piece about a place, Trailer 2 is about a relationship. Jason and Lucia get scenes together rather than intercut fragments, and the supporting cast arrives with them: Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez.

It also widened the map considerably, moving out of Vice City into the wetland, the Keys and the interior.

The music

Hot Together by The Pointer Sisters, from 1986. Where the Tom Petty track was wistful, this one is warm and slightly ridiculous, and it does a lot of work: the trailer is funnier than the first one and considerably more affectionate about its two leads.

The closing shot

It ends with the pair driving into the sunset in what has been identified as a [Declasse Tulip](/wiki/vehicles/vehicles-overview), a 1972 Chevelle-shaped muscle car. Bonnie and Clyde framing, played straight.

Why the gap mattered

Seventeen months between trailers, and then another fifteen before gameplay, is an unusually long silence for a game this size. It was filled almost entirely by community analysis, which is a large part of why the mapping projects and the frame-by-frame culture around this game got as serious as they did.

What is not known

As with the first trailer, Rockstar has published no shot list. Several locations and vehicles in it remain identified by outlets rather than by the studio.
